Grand Rapids—New Life Group. New Life is a support group which ministers primarily to separated, divorced, widowed and never married Catholics. They have monthly meetings with a speaker or a educational video, special retreats, stations of the cross, annual outdoor mass and potluck, a special Mass with Bishop Rose, and several other activities published in a monthly newsletter. The New Life Divorce Support Group hosts ten-week sessions. Men and women who are divorced or going through a divorce will help you learn ways to cope with the stress and strains. The group is sponsored by, and meetings are held at, the Grand Rapids Catholic Information Center, a community center of the Paulist Fathers. Grand Rapids—The Good News Community. This organization offers a wide variety of divorce recovery programs in the Grand Rapids area. Among these are Creative Coping, weekly support meetings for those who are separated or struggling with coping issues, and Coping with Divorce, a nine-week seminar designed to help individuals cope with the trauma of divorce and address the issues of being single. Kentwood—St. Mary Magdalen Parish. The parish offers Connecting Adult Singles, a social group for divorced, widowed and never married single adults 18 years and older.
